Iconic actress, producer, author and STEM education advocate Danica McKellar was first introduced to us as Winnie Cooper on the television classic The Wonder Years. Danica has since appeared on both comedies and dramas, and she most recently co-wrote, executive produced and starred in the romantic comedy A Cinderella Christmas Ball, her fifth movie for Great American Family network. Danica was a judge on Fox’s reality competition series Domino Masters and was a quarter-finalist on Dancing with the Stars.

Following her early acting success, Danica enrolled in college and proceeded to distinguish herself, graduating summa cum laude from UCLA with a degree in Mathematics. Along the way, she contributed original research proving a new math theorem, since dubbed The Chayes-McKellar-Winn theorem, published in Britain’s esteemed Journal of Physics, and featured on the cover of the The New York Times Science section.

Danica is the recipient UCLA’s Educational Pioneers Award and Award for Graduate Achievement, and the Communications Award from the Joint Policy Board for Mathematics, which includes the American Mathematical Society and the Mathematical Association of America.
Danica testified before a Congressional subcommittee about the importance of women in math and science. She was named “Person of the Week” by ABC World News Tonight for tackling math education and simultaneously breaking the stereotype of the “math nerd” with her highly entertaining and illuminating books.

Now a New York Times bestselling author, Danica’s series of eleven groundbreaking books teach kids and teens how to master mathematical concepts in innovative ways. Danica expanded her writing to include young children’s math books, and she received the unique honor of being chosen to read her bestselling children’s book Goodnight Numbers at the Library of Congress. The Times Machine, which teaches common core methods to third- and fourth-graders using fun cartoons and comic strips, was named “Amazon Book of the Year.” Danica’s 11th book, “Double Puppy Trouble,” was selected as Amazon's "Editor's Pick: Best books ages 3-5."
